As a dance group we occasionally go mad and stage a show. The first show we put on was back in 2004 at Selby Town Hall and was a sell out. We were joined by dancers from other groups around Yorkshire and it was a memorable evening. After vowing never to do it again we put on a more ambitious show in Nov 2006 at Selby High School and performed the whole show ourselves, this time the money raised was split between Fragile X and Martin House Hospice charities.
Our Nov 2008 show was a sell out and was again entirely performed by Selby Arabic Dance with two fantastic solo performances from guest dancer Jackie Price from S.Wales. This show had a great cabaret feel to it as we danced on a level with the audience. Our theme was 'A World of Dance' and incorporated a variety of themes into our choreographies such as our Japanese themed parasol dance and our Gaelic Veil Dance. Thanks to the overwhelming support from those who attended, we raised almost £600 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The shows take a huge amount of organisation and hard work and none of it would have been possible without the enthusiasm and support of our dance group and family and friends.
